The Dangers of Mardi Gras

IMAGE_00046

Walker got nailed by a medallion on the end of some beads. As a true son of New Orleans, he didn’t let this flesh wound keep him from catching more throws.

The medallion itself has a battery compartment…didn’t seem to do anything, so we’ll have to crack it open and replace the batteries to see if anything happens.

The structure of every day…or night…

Have you ever stopped to think about the little beauties around you?

This is a shot or the light strings outside my front door transom. It made me think of sparklers and fandangos.

Me -N- Skylar

IMAGE_00041I went to the ATM today…and I received a message.

Apparently, I am involved with a woman(?) named “Skylar.”

I had no idea…

I’m thinking my wife, Wendy, will have something to say about this…

Computer technology is the oracle of modern life…don’t ya think?

Finally some semblance of order

Well, I got the CSS repaired for the most part. Still not sure why the delay in posts showing up, but then again, I’m not live blogging anything right now and I don’t have any more time to devote to trying to figure it out. So we’ll go with what we’ve got and see how it goes.

My thesis show is scheduled to open on 25 March, so I’ve got other things to attend to. But I did all of this to try and kickstart my blogging again, to keep a record of show preparations to begin with (and anything else I feel like…and we all know how I like to be distracted…), then to continue with recording the process of my work. even ifno one ever looks at it, at least I’ll have it to look back on.

So there it is! Hopefully, I won’t run into anymore weird Bee/Word Press problems…although since the Bee upgrade, every time I restar the app, it asks me to re-authenticate my settings… it keeps the Word Press blog settings, but hoses my Flickr setup, so if I want to photoblog, I have to re-enter all my Flickr settings in Bee! AH!…but as I said, I don’t have time to play with the little details anymore….and I’m tired of blogging about blogging… ;-)

AHHHH!!!

Ok, still having problems, so once I’d upgraded Bee, I looked at WordPress itseld. Indeed, I was quite a bit behind the current release. I just did that upgrade…and lost all of my CSS formatting…so now I’m testing Bee to see if it made any difference…and then I’l have to look at applying my CSS again….ughhh…..

Final Bee Test

So, all my posts from this afternoon finally showed up!

The post time doesn’t show up under the blog post title…only the date, so I hadn’t thought about it before. But I checked the individual post times against the times I’d written in the post and indeed, they’re off by exactly an hour. Found the time zone setting in the admin and indeed, I was off there, so hopefully, that fixes everything and I’ll be all set.

Update: Still not working… 7:55

One more test

Let’s see if previewing the post in Bee helps anything….last two posts are already in the admin section of the blog but not on the public-facing page….

updating this post to see if it makes it appear…

Updated Bee

There was a .01 update to Bee. I installed it and hopefully it will solve some of my problems…some of the text is still screwed up (its a native Romanian app with English as a user preference…obviously not fully implemented….).

So far, the last post hasn’t shown up on my blog, so let’s see what happens here.

Photoblogging/Bee update

OK, so it worked…sorta. the post is there now and that’s pretty cool, but for some reason, posts from Bee don’t appear immediately. I can edit posts and the edits appear as soon as I sync, but new posts either take a while OR they have to be edited before they appear. New posts appear inthe admin of the blog and are marked as published, but they just don’t appear on the home page.

 Let’s test it….posting this at 12:19.

Testing Photoblogging

IMAGE_00022
So I’ve uploaded this picture to my Flickr account from my cell phone using ShoZu. Now I’m testing Bee (the AIR blogging app) to photoblog about it. Bee allows access to my WordPress blog as well as to my Flickr account which is a nice combo. Let’s see if it works!
